Every day there are reports in the news about extremes in weather patterns throughout the world due to global warming. In the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey region in the past decade we have experienced such major emergencies as a terrorist attack and a blackout, and within the past months we have experienced such smaller emergencies as an underground steam pipe explosion in Manhattan, a tornado in Brooklyn, and paralyzing of the subway system due to severe thunderstorms.

Are you prepared for energy disruptions, natural disasters or terrorist incidents? The American Red Cross and government agencies have consistently stressed the need for each person to have at least a 3-day supply of food and water and basic first aid, due to the fact that is takes about 3 days for the Red Cross and government agencies to get into the area when a disaster has occurred. Individual citizens must be prepared to fend for themselves for at least the first 3 days, if not more.

Are you prepared to survive in your apartment for 3 days? Are you prepared to survive in your apartment for two weeks? Are you prepared in case you have to evacuate your apartment with little advance notice?

As much as all of us would love to be of help in an emergency, we cannot be of help if we are too busy trying to find food, water and first aid for ourselves.

It is our hope that the information in this section of the website will help members become better prepared in cases of emergency by providing:
