Sukyo refers to the universal laws
God established at the time of the Creation so that all things
in the universe can prosper eternally, and Mahikari
means True Light, the Light of God which purifies
all things. Through the experience of receiving True Light,
it can become much easier for a person to awaken to the existence
of God, the Light of God and the invisible spiritual realm.
Just as plants need sunlight to grow and
prosper, human beings need the spiritual energy, or the Light
of God, to grow spiritually. This is why the teachings of
many of the world’s major religions and faiths include the
concept that God is Light.
The origin is God, the common ancestor of
every human being. Therefore, all human beings are brothers
and sisters. Through an understanding of this teaching, people
can naturally develop a deep respect and altruistic love for
others.
Because Sukyo Mahikari teachings are of
a spiritual nature, it is not surprising that many of the
teachings are similar to those of other spiritual organizations.
However, there are some teachings related to God’s plan, the
unseen spiritual realm, and the future of humanity that we
believe are unique to Sukyo Mahikari.
Throughout history people cultivated their
faith in God by following different religions or spiritual
practices. However, God's plan has now reached a stage where
people should work together to build a God-centered civilization,
a civilization in which people's faith in God manifests as
their desire to work for God and to live in harmony with other
people and nature.
